Senior Pastor

Rod and Stephanie Murphy are the Lead Pastors at Faith Assembly of God in West Hazelton, PA. Rod is a straightforward communicator of God’s Word.  He strives to bring a relevant message that brings life change to the community of believers and the community surrounding Faith A/G. 

Rod and Stephanie have been in full-time Christian ministry since 1992.  As graduates of Valley Forge Christian College, they have served the church body in a variety of ministry roles. Rod is an active leader in the Penn-Del District of the Assemblies of God where he serves in the areas of HonorBound Men, Home Missions and on the VFCC Alumni Board.  He also travels as a speaker, consultant and trainer to a variety of church denominations in the areas of Manhood, Fatherhood, and developing a Small Group lifestyle.

Originally from a small town in Northern Ohio, Rod has pastored in his hometown, in Lancaster, PA and in Reading, PA.  His wife Stephanie, originally from Lancaster , PA has been actively involved in ministry alongside her husband every step of the way.

Outside of their own relationship with Christ, the highlight of their lives together has been the gift of their children – Nathan and Alyssa.  “ Our family is a high priority for us” say Rod.  Together they enjoy camping, sporting activities, playing games, reading and taking walks.

Also, Rod personally enjoys playing basketball, golf, working out, watching sports and hanging out with family and friends.

Rod says, “The passion of my life is relationships. God has given me a desire to build relationships in the community and in the church that will lead everyone I meet one step closer to Him.”  He also states, “I believe the Greater Hazleton area is primed for a tremendous breakthrough in both physical growth and spiritual growth and we are excited to be a part of it.”
