KIDFEST! is our ministry for kids in grades 3-6 during our Wednesday Family Night time- 7-8:30. It is jam-packed full of fun, games, music- TOTALLY kid and visitor friendly! It encourages time together- playing together, praying together, praising God together, learning together, and provides for a safe atmosphere to ask questions together.
Once a month we do a Ministry Training Nite- where the KIDS learn about and try out for one of our KIDFEST! ministry teams! Currently, we are raising up a puppet team, face-painting team, clown team, and skit team. (More ministry teams will appear in the future!) These teams of 3rd-6th graders will be trained to do ministry outreaches- in nursing homes, other churches, community outreaches such as VBS, our city-wide Rockin’-the-Block event, Easter Egg Hunt, and many other community outreaches that we do here at Faith Assembly.
We believe that children CAN do ministry!- that there is no junior Holy Spirit- only THE Holy Spirit! Jesus endorsed children as being capable of glorifying God (Matthew 21:15-16, “But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things that He did and the children shouting in the temple area, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David,’ they were indignant. “Do you hear what these children are saying?’ they asked him. ‘Yes,’ replied Jesus, ‘have you never read,’ ‘from the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise?’”
Jesus also endorsed them for being capable of understanding Scripture, and recognized this in his young mentoree, Timothy (2 Timothy 3:14-15, “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have know the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus,” and Acts 2:39, “The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off- for all whom the Lord our God will call.”)
Jesus additionally endorsed children for being capable of receiving spiritual things, (Joel 2:28, “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.”)
At KIDFEST! we treat children as people- with gifts and talents waiting to be honed and developed- waiting to  serve others.
